Carried Along
2 Peter 1:20-21
[20] Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation.
[21] For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
A man isn't a Man of God because of what he does. He is a Man of God because of what God does. The Man of God is chosen, made, or rather born to be what he is. All his actions good and bad are ordained and planned before anyone drew breath.
His doubts, his fears, never interfere or affect the plans that God has for him... instead, they are all part of it.
He is made, like all things, to be what he is. Like Luke Skywalker, the story is written to mold and shape the major character. The story shows a greater purpose and greater message, but the Man of God plays a key role... even if he doesn't know it or accept it.
Eventually he will, it is character development. You see, if The Author didn't humble him in the story before he realizes his place in it, he would be lost in arrogance. Once he knows that the story made him, that The Author made him, there can be no boasting, only resignation and appreciation.
Life becomes more like surfing than a struggle to survive. Surfing, while knowing that your Dad is always right beside you, guiding, balancing, or pushing you into the waves as needed.
You trust your Dad.
He is the Best!
Proverbs 16:9
[9] In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
Faith, is required.
But, faith is given, not earned or accomplished. Even our seeking to know God, even our understanding of who and what HE IS, is a gift.
He reveals Himself.
He installs Himself.
He moves Himself.
I have had flying dreams since the late 90s. He taught me that the wind that lifts, is Him. Even the sense to stand in the light of the Son and notice the Wind is Him within, connecting to Him without.
Action, then, happens.
Sometimes it is miraculous, sometimes it is not. Actually, it is all miraculous. We just can't see it until He wants us to.
It is that Faith, that Spirit, that we are moved by... moved along.
You know it, because you see it... even if no one else does. This is walking by Faith. Walking by The Spirit.
A miraculous event doesn't prove anything. Saul, who became the first king prophesied. Saul fought and won many impossible battles. Saul did the miraculous... but Saul wasn't a man of God.
Success doesn’t prove anything. David, for most of his life ran from Saul. At one point, his own men were considering stoning him. Failure makes Men of God.
Men of God are carried along, by the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:13
[14] The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The message of the Man of God is also carried along. It is not meant for the weeds. They will never hear it or see it. Faith is the eyes to see. Faith is given... by grace. It is not and never was available to everyone.
You must be chosen, from before you were born... you must be a Man of God.
It is OK if you don't know it yet. If you are His... you will when He wills.
You will be carried along... by Him.
In fact, you already are.
