Conscious of Consciousness

In any story, written by a novelist, there are characters that are purely background, characters that are supportive, characters that are antagonistic, and of course, main characters that the story revolves around.

This is a literary style, but like all other things... where did it come from?

The Double Slit experiment, for anyone who is a bit of a nerd like me, showed that photons and electrons both act as particles AND as waves. To make it simple, acting as a particle is like throwing a bunch of BBs. When facing a wall with two elongated slits in it, the blasting of BBs will send one through a slit and it will hit the wall on the other side in a predictable pattern. You will end up with two BB peppered elongated lines matching the two slits that the BBs passed through.

That is acting like a particle.

A wave is what happens when a material or surface substance gets disturbed. Like throwing a rock into a lake. The disturbance causes a ripple that spans outward in every direction. If the double slit wall is on the surface of water and the water is disturbed, well, the pattern on the second wall will show something much different than what it does with a particle. It will have multiple images of the two slits fanning outward and fading as they go.

That is acting like a wave.

The oddity and scientific curiosity that they are still trying to figure out is that the electron and photon act both as a wave AND a particle... at different times.

What is the change?

Here is where it gets really interesting... It is observation.

That's right.

When someone is watching the experiment, the electron and the photon act like a particle. When they are not observing the experiment, they act like a wave. This is clear by the end result on the second wall. The change happens ONLY if the action is observed.

"That sounds more like science fiction, than science!"

Doesn't it!!

"So, what does this have to do with biblical things?"

Everything! Look, I know the biblical truth that we are pre-written characters by a fantastically powerful being is a hard pill to swallow. The reason it is hard is because we struggle with wanting to be powerful like Him. That was the first lie and is still the reason why many "characters" are not going on to the next story... the sequel.

The thing that the Double Slit experiment points to is huge. You see, in any story, the characters are not real. They are simply words on a page. They become real as a reader inputs the code, the words, and their mind interprets the story in their own mind... their own consciousness.

Consider this. The character isn't real, until he is read and thought about. So, within the story, the character has a seemingly real thoughts, issues and struggles. They have their own... consciousness!

This character consciousness is nothing more than a focus or attention of the reader! It is like the readers life and consciousness is partially loaned to the character. As long as the reader is reading, the character comes to life!

If the reader puts the story down, time, for the character completely stops. They don't exist. Only when the reader is focused on the character do they have any progress, action, change, or time. The character's consciousness is only when the readers conscious is focused on them.

So, biblically, how do we get saved?

That's right. God, a being outside of time and space, imparts a bit of His own Spirit into a character and they "come to life"... they are born again.

Think this is silly? That's because you are not ready to see the truth of it yet... hopefully.

In any good story, even as a reader is reading it, there are people milling about that are never the focus. NPC is what I call them. The bible calls them the lost, the unsaved. Still think this is silly?

Consider then the main characters. The antagonist, the enemy, is definitely focused on by the reader. However, the reader does not like the antagonist, because they "feel" for the main character, and the antagonist is a royal pain to the main character.

The side character or friends of the main character are also part of the readers focus. They may be liked, but not nearly as much as the main character. They support, annoy, and often train the main character into becoming successful in the storyline. They are not NPCs but they are not the reason the story moves forward.

That role is for the main character. He or she is who the reader is rooting for. Who the Author wrote to be primary in the story. The main character, in fact, is usually who the Author puts more of Himself into. More of His heart, more of His Spirit... are you seeing this yet?

So, back to the Double Slit experiment. Everything changes when there is a conscious viewing of the experiment. Nothing is by accident with God. What is He revealing here? Me, I think He is expressing the very thing I wrote about above.

This story, this reality, only moves, only acts as HE is focusing His attention on. He is both the Author AND the Reader. He has put Himself into the story AND into some of the characters... the characters that WILL be part of the sequel... the story that will never end.

It all comes down to consciousness. God's consciousness. His attention. His focus. His Heart... His Spirit.

We are given a measure of it. That is what the scriptures teach. To one, maybe 5 measures, to another 2, and to another 1. Even what we do with that measure is pre-written. The measure only shows how much of the Reader's focus that character has. The result of each measure, though, is that it generates a response. For greater measures, there is a greater response... for greater attention, focus, consciousness, the greater the storyline is for that character.

Can you see it yet? Moses, David, Peter, Paul and John?

Now, the next question... what type of character are you?

Ah, again, that is shown only by what you are doing with that measure. It is exposed by your own consciousness... what are you focused on?

You see, what the Author/Reader wants, aside from a good story, is a permanent connection with the main characters, characters that will respond with like interest, like attention... like focus.

What are you most conscious of?

That will tell you what type of character you are... a particle, or a wave.
