Now That's Old

Martha and I went to Ireland after a two-week cruise to Norway and Iceland. Yes, it is nice being retired!

While in Ireland, we went on a few tours and museums. The history of the area spoke often of the old religions being replaced by the new one... Christianity.

I found this funny, because of the ignorance of actual Christianity, spoken by "christians".

The truth is, that Biblically, the first religion was God, when He made man, Adam and Eve.

Once the predestined scenarios unfolded and Adam became desirous of becoming like God, man dived straight into the ignorance of possibilities. Facets and paths of lies, while trying to somewhat hold on to a relationship with the One being who made them.

The knowledge of good and evil, the knowledge of God and man, became a rift into seeing truth. The lie that man could become like God started it all. The sight of the difference between man and God was so disturbing that man fought to make god smaller and himself bigger... thus the lies.

We call them idols. Mini gods that man can attempt to control. These lies are old. Yes, they are, but not older than the truth that God made us all. That truth just became hidden. Not by any happening, but by man refusing to look because of the fear of that great distance. Small gods were easier to handle and accept.

They still are.

So, multitudes of mini god stories spread like cracks in glass. After thousands and thousands of years, these stories became so common and so changed that many cultures forgot the actual origin.

Abraham didn't. So, God used him.

The Jews weren't special other than being handpicked by the Creator, the Author of the story. He introduced himself to them.

He could have done this to any people, but He chose them. Why?

Why not? It is His story; He can do as He wants. Who are we to argue with it? We are just characters.

Arrogance is unbecoming... literally.

God was and is first. Judaism was man re-introduced to God. They became, like Adam, fourth wall breakers. Seeing the Author and Reader of the story.

"So how is Christianity not new?"

Ah, you see when the Author stepped into the story, when the Word of the story became a character, an exact representation of God, Judaism didn't change it became fulfilled.

Christianity is Judaism, or rather a completion of it. The end result so to speak. Christians are Jews.

Current Jews are those who haven't accepted the full measure of religious truth. They know of God, like many other unbelievers, but don't really know Him.

There are many who call themselves christian who do the same.

Knowing God. Not just knowing about Him.

This IS the oldest religion.
