The Other Way

Repentance isn't turning away from doing bad to doing good.

It isn't because it is impossible.

Man is not good. Only God is good. That is what Jesus said.

Repentance is turning from trusting anything, to trusting only God.

Jesus completed the Law proving He was good, or GOD. He finished the covenant of the Law by dying as both God and a Jew. Both sides of the covenant.

He created a new covenant, or contract, open to anyone who believes, trusts in Him...not in anything else.

Faith is what God wants. Yet, anything you think you still HAVE to do to be accepted is the opposite of this repentance. For anything you believe you have to do, you trust in your ability to do it!

That is not trusting God. It is not Repentance.

Trust in God can only happen if you know God. If you think He is limited in any way, how can you trust Him?

If He is limited by your choice, then He can't help you if you don't help yourself!

That would require faith in YOU, not Him. Without your "choice" you cannot be saved.

Can you see the problem?

Faith in God is how anyone gets accepted by God.

Faith in man is the sinful nature. It is "I will ascend" or "If I do 'this' I will be like God". Basically "I will be good enough"

You can't.

You WILL fail.

So, everything you think you must do, from a choice, prayer, work, ministry, gift, sacrifice, and feeling is the opposite of true repentance.

You do it to ascend.

It is not of faith.

Faith in God creates action.

You trust God, so you obey God.

He knows what is best.

With trust, you already have acceptance. The action or work is never considered necessary for salvation. It is just what you do.

What you do, then, can never elevate you over and above anyone.

Repent therefore and believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

He IS the only way you will ever be good enough.

You will never be accepted, without Him.
