A Good Reflection

When an author writes a novel does the story reflect the author?

Considering this thought, it occurred to me that in any novel, an author writes a story that doesn't necessarily reflect the author. Sure, he came up with the story, and maybe the hero of the novel might reflect a heroic fantasy of the author, but every bad guy just might be something the author sees as great evil.

The bad guy could be really bad. With his henchmen, they do terrible things to the good guys, children, and even puppies. The author wrote the bad guy, but no one would just assume that the bad guy, being as bad as he is, reflects some deep evil desire of the author.

No, the bad guy is just a character in the story purposefully invented to bring out the best in the heroes.

A simple plot device.

Why would anyone say that because the story has evil, that the author must be evil? The idea is absurd... yet, it is stated as a reason why God cannot be in control of HIS story!

Hopefully, it helps to see the ridiculousness of saying Stephen King MUST be evil, because he wrote of great and twisted evil. With that knowledge, maybe also realize the stupidity of denying God's Authorship due to the evil He created in this world.

Like any author, He has a good reason for bad. His book does in fact say that.

Just a bit more knowledge of good and evil... it won't make you like God, but it will point you back toward His direction.
