Are We in the Boat at All?
Questions, I ask a lot of questions.
You can't know someone, unless you ask them questions, and you can't trust someone that you do not know.
It isn't faith to just "trust" God without knowing Him at all. It is no different from trusting a man you just met with access to your banking info or asking him to watch your kids overnight.
I'm sorry, that isn't faith at all... it's foolishness.
Curiosity is not something God is bothered by, in fact, I have found that He loves questions. He has already said that He loves when people seek Him.
Yet, it seems many are terribly afraid to ask Him questions like it's something He cannot handle.
A truth that you need to know... there is no question that you can ask Him that He is afraid of, absolutely none.
It's your attitude that matters.
Even a question about His motives, His character, isn't bothersome to Him if you ask it in real curiosity or from a place of pain.
Arrogance is not accepted. Pride, an attempt to make Him small in your question.
"Why did you do this?" From a man hurting as he watches his child die of cancer. God is not annoyed at. In fact, He will often draw close to comfort them.
Now, if I ask with a mocking heart, "Why did you do this?", speaking of Him putting the tree in the garden... yeah, not going to get a good response.
We are all in the same boat. We are born. We struggle. We die.
Why?
What science is supposed to do is study this question, to learn and understand the nature of our reality.
Yet, foolish men ignore the obvious because they don't want to see it. Many christians do the same.
"I can't accept that a God is in control, because that means I am not, and it just doesn't seem fair. I would make it fairer if I was God."
Ha! You have no idea what you had for breakfast last week, and you think you could understand all things and do better than a being outside of time and space?
If God made you with a word, how could you possibly understand how or why He does what He does?
You can't.
Unless you ask Him.
