Chosen For What?

Saul was chosen by God to be king...a temporary one.

Being "chosen" by God does not mean you are favored for everything.

Romans 13:1

[1] Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

Donald Trump was chosen by God out of all the men on the planet to become president of the United States. This is a fact as stated clearly in scripture. However, like king Saul, it does not mean Donald is a man of God.

Joe Biden was President before him, so scripturally as well, he was also chosen by God to be president.

Don't like that?

Then you don't trust God.

It IS what scripture says. If you want to take this truth to its obvious conclusion...Adolf Hitler was also "chosen" by God.

Why?

Ah, God has a plan. God has a purpose.

This is the challenge. This is the test.

Do you trust Him?

Now, here comes the hard part...

Being "chosen" by God, like good and bad leadership, is most of the time for a specific purpose. It doesn’t mean the same thing. Saul was chosen to be king, not to be a decent man of God. Pharoah, who God raised up for a specific stated purpose, was also not a man of God.

None of them were given eternal life. They were not The Chosen, The Elect, The Children of God.

They had a job to do, and in their good and evil decisions served a purpose only God knows the full extent of.

Now, to dismantle a few sacred cows...

Israel was chosen by God. Abraham's line was promised to bless the world with the Christ. God's means of salvation. Isreal was chosen by God to present the Law, the written form of the knowledge of good and evil, the perfect tool to show The Chosen that they cannot be like God and need to trust Him for everything.

Isreal, like the Gentiles, must believe and accept Christ to become The Chosen. Faith in God IS the only way. It has been that way from the beginning.

Romans 11:25-26

[25] I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.

[26] And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

Romans 9:17-18

[17] For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

[18] Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

Speaking of Jerusalem, the Capital city of Israel...

Revelation 11:13

[13] At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

The remnant will be saved, the survivors...all the Jews that are left.

So, yes Israel is chosen by God, for a purpose, and a remnant of them are chosen to become sons of God. The difference is the same as for any Jew or Gentile...faith in God through Jesus Christ.

So, there is great error in hating Jews, and there is great error in worshiping them up as an Eternally Chosen nation.

Now, what are you chosen for?

Like Hitler, Biden and Trump, are you "chosen" for a purpose or Chosen for eternity?

Obviously, power and position do not prove anything. Neither does spiritual power and a pulpit! Remember, Saul prophesied and led worship.

Additionally, the Goats are going to be baffled before judgment as to why they are rejected when they healed the sick and raised the dead!

Matthew 7:22-23

[21] "Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

[22] Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

[23] Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

They think they have faith in God yet prove they do not by raising themselves above others...who actually ARE the works of God.

Yes, being chosen is good.

However, being chosen for eternal life with God is the only reason we should live for. It is the only thing that matters

It is what God created the world for.

Romans 8:18-22

[18] I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

[19] The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.

[20] For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope

[21] that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

[22] We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

Chosen as Children, this is what the world was created for.
