Fascinating
The gift of God, eternal life, is as written...a gift, from God.
"Christians" on any given Sunday are taught over and over that the Gift must be accepted, or it is not obtained.
This is not biblical, not scriptural, and absolutely not true.
Free Will is not in the bible. In is not.
You either believe the Bible is God's Word or you don't. If you ignore even the smallest fraction of scriptural truth, you dismiss the Authority of the whole!
Yes, you do.
Twisting it to comfortably fit your sensibilities is an act of making up your own religion. It is not faith in God or His word.
It just isn't.
Look, scripture says very plainly, the Gift is not returnable. How many have you known over the years that have "walked away"?
Since eternal life is given by grace, and not returnable how can they possibly walk away?
For a Gift given by grace, not because of any work, thought, decision, or effort, how can you possibly lose it by doing something, or not doing something?
You can't.
"What about those who clearly have walked away from the faith?!"
They didn't.
Look, you cannot lose salvation, which is a gift from God. You can only prove you never had it to begin with. As evidence of this, you can see that Faith in God wasn't there when they speak of all they did or sacrificed but got nowhere with God.
Works are the opposite of Faith!
Faith is trusting God, works are trusting in what you can do to make up for any lack.
WHAT LACK DO YOU THINK GOD REALLY HAS!?
This IS the sin nature. The desire to become like God. It permeates our very selves.
I should pray more.
I need to witness to others.
I must go to church.
I must discipline my thoughts.
I JUST HAVE TO DO BETTER!
No, you just need to look at and seek God.
That IS what Jesus said. "Seek first, and ALL these things will be added to you.
Because you were incapable of becoming perfect like God, as a mercy He gave you Faith, the eyes to see. If He did indeed give it to you...you Will see.
You didn't have to study for it. You didn't have to sacrifice for it. You did nothing to earn it...even the act of receiving the sight was part of the Gift!
You have NOTHING to boast about! That IS what it says in the book.
Ah, but do you really believe it is God's Word?
As also written, "faith is shown by what you do".
Boasting, is raising of oneself over another...it is the sin nature exposed.
"I will ascend and become like God".
Good works do follow faith, because we KNOW God's way is best. Now, if we KNOW that we did nothing to earn or deserve this Gift, then we cannot boast or look down on anyone!
You cannot!
You see, the Goats show they do not believe by how they act. They believe they are "better than" because of something they did.
I prayed more.
I witnessed to others more.
I went to church more.
I disciplined my thoughts more.
I DID BETTER THAN THAT GUY!
Because they did better, they can and will dismiss those they deem "unreachable".
Yes, this is a sign, a work, that exposes the lack of faith, a lack of the Gift.
"The Kingdom of God is within you."
Only if you trust the King.
Do you really believe He is limited by anything?
By you?
That is fascinating.
