Feeling Good!
Matthew 6:25-34
[25] "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
[26] Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
[27] Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
[28] "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
[29] Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
[30] If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
[31] So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?'
[32] For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
[33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
[34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
The way of the world, of satan, is to step up and take control...to become like God.
You must plan your future.
You need to protect your assets.
You need to fight to survive.
You must will your reality into existence!
Jesus taught the opposite.
Surrender.
"Not my will, but yours be done."
Trusting God requires TRUST IN GOD. To do so, we must know Him, and He must be absolutely trustworthy.
Thankfully, He Is.
Therefore, the problem is on our end. If we trust Him, then all the problems in the world fold into one day's worth of struggles that God Himself has put purposefully in your path to make you grow.
"Huh, that's not so bad."
Since we trust Him, we know that He is sovereign, in complete control, and He has our best interest in heart.
1 Corinthians 10:13
[13] No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
Romans 8:28
[28] And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Life becomes doable.
He has promised this.
Do you believe it?
Do you know Him enough to accept it?
It doesn't matter if it's Dave Ramsey, Norman Vincent Peale, or Tony Robbins, taking control of your life is the opposite of surrendering it to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Want to feel good about yourself?
If you try to be like God...you won't.
Ah, but if you make Jesus Lord, really make Him Lord over all of you...you will see how He sees you.
He will make your life a work of art.
Boy, does that feel good!
