Getting Saved

2 min read

Faith doesn't save you unless it is true. I can believe I am going to be ascended at the next comet all I want, but since the idea is delusional, absolutely nothing will happen.

Faith that Jesus died for your sins won't save you if you believe you have to be good enough for it to work. Nor does it help by believing you are saved because you recited a prayer, bowed low to the ground, or felt really bad in front if a church body.

Faith that saves is faith in God, His power, control, and love. Faith is trusting God knows what He is doing and has authority over your life, walk, past, present, and future.

Abraham had this. So did everyone listed in Hebrews chapter 11. Faith is trusting God, and God alone. You, and everyone else, have nothing to do with it. No action by anyone else saves... not at all.

It starts with a realization of who Jesus really is, the savior, God as a man. This realization is a gift. Basically, God introduces Himself personally.

Oh, you can know about Him, and trust what someone says about Him, but if that is all you ever have, do you really trust God... or trust the One who told you about Him?

This is why some many seem to walk away as they get older.

You can't lose faith in God, who is perfect, because He doesn't change. All you can do is show that you never really knew Him. You never walk away; you just never walked to Him.

Sorry, but this is true. If you are not stuck in your own ability to save yourself, it makes perfect sense.

If you are going to progress from a simple molecule of faith, just knowing Jesus died for your sins, you must walk a road that leads to full trust in God, the Father. You must grow in knowing God, relationally.

Every day, every step, seeking, looking, watching God as He walks with you through life. Talking with Him, listening to Him, reading His words, this is how you get to know who and what He really is.

Seek and you WILL find.

Don't and you won't.

Doing this, faith grows naturally, because the more you know Him, the more you will trust Him because He is absolutely trustworthy.

What really saves you?

He does.
