If you consider value based on consciousness, stepping on an ant means nothing to you.

What consciousness does the ant really have compared to a man?

Seeing the apparent panic, it reacts with when you miss on your first effort to step on it, it does have some level of consciousness.

Oh, I agree, comparing the fear in an ant isn't even close to the fear of a human in a similar circumstance. Ants are more like little programs than sentient beings.

Ah, but consider the value placed on a man by say, an angelic being? Do we seem like ants to them? Does our fear matter to them?

Oh, but then consider the top of the food chain, GOD. To HIM even angels are made like little programs, or characters in a story. What does it matter if they are afraid, in pain, or suffering with a situation HE created?

Now, consider the way God has written in His book about HIS children, the chosen, the elect, the predestined...

The value HE places on HIS own is vast! He would move heaven and earth for them.

Actually...HE created heaven and earth for them.

Kind of makes you feel a wee bit special...doesn't it?
