Impossible Believism

I saw a video yesterday where there is apparently an argument that says we must still obey the commandments and reject Easy Believism.

Easy Believism?

By using this term, those still stuck in "I will ascendism" make simple salvation by faith, foolish, and works absolutely necessary.

It is really bad.

Scripture warns of this kind of teaching, and Paul even curses it!

Look, this isn't hard. Faith alone saves. That faith must be in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Now faith must grow, and that faith must be in God as a whole. This faith grows as we experience life with God.

It grows because we read, listen, and reach out to God in prayer. It grows as we see Him act, move, and communicate.

When we connect with Him, and we NEED to connect to Him, we get to know Him personally and intimately.

Because we KNOW Him, we trust Him, because He IS trustworthy.

He is always the same.

He doesn't change.

He IS trustworthy.

If you are not convinced of that, you just need to know Him better.

This is the catch.

Faith comes and grows by increased KNOWING of God on a personal, intimate, level.

Faith IS the only way to be saved. Yet Faith is shown by what we do.

If you don't know and trust God, you will do evil things.

Oh, you can try to resist these things by pursuing good works, but if you don't KNOW God, you are still not saved, and struggling with the knowledge of good and evil...and your vast inability to be good, like God.

It is guaranteed failure...and why you always do.

Now, if you know and trust God through Jesus, then you ARE saved. That faith was given to you as a gift. You did nothing to receive it, including your acceptance of it. It is ALL a gift; you have nothing to boast about.

No effort or work at all.

With that faith, you are now connected to the Father and becoming one with Him through the Son.

It is a done deal, nothing more is required of you.

As your faith grows, your trust naturally becomes deeper, just like when you meet a decent person for the first time and become friends.

As your trust increases, your actions will reflect it.

It just happens...because YOU are HIS work.

You struggle with meanness? As you learn His kindness, and perfect heart, your heart towards others, changes. You see how right His ways are. How you love Him and His heart, you WILL change that bad behavior without any effort, will, or discipline.

THIS is how faith works and is shown by what you do. It is a reflection of your relationship to God.

There is nothing easy about it!

In fact, it is impossible to you.

Ah, but nothing is impossible to Him.
