Investing in Eternity

It's easy to trust God if you know God.

The measure of faith you have been given, and it is given (talents anyone?), grows by increasing your "knowing" of Jesus Christ.

If you just meet someone, you will not trust them to hold your wallet until you know they are trustworthy.

You can choose to trust them based on how they look, but that is foolishness not faith.

You can also choose to trust them based on what someone else says about them, but then your trust is really in the one who told you about them.

Until you really know someone, you cannot really trust them. You must get to know them. You must know THEM, not simply about them.

God wants faith in Him. It isn't about doing miracles, because faith doesn't make miracles, God alone does. It is written every time that the power comes FROM God...not faith, not man.

Faith, being supremely relational, it is obvious that God wants us to seek Him to grow in relational knowledge.

It is convenient to start with knowledge from others who seem to know Him. However, if you are not seeking God on your own, do you really seek Him at all?

If you are comfortable with that limited knowledge, then you are putting the "talent" on loan with the bankers. It will grow, if the "banker" does his job well. You are trusting the "banker".

Even in that scenario, if you trust God even a little, He Himself will reach out to you to draw you to Himself.

The only thing faith has to do with your will, or choice, is as a reaction to the desire given to you. Desire to seek and know God. It is no different than when you meet someone you are attracted to.
