Let Your Amen Be
The word means "so be it, or let it be so".
No, it does not mean "yes".'
It is more like a "thumbs up".
This makes it cringeworthy when you see a church respond with "AMEN!" when a pastor or teacher declares some sort of wickedness.
Yes, the wickedness is true, but do you really want it to be true? Is it something you want to be so?
Of course, I understand that most are just ignorant of the word's actual meaning, so I must apply grace.
Still, as a Christian man who cares, I will point out the error when appropriate.
Here is the rub... if I do or say nothing, am I in agreement with the error? How would anyone know?
If I can and don't offer correction, whether it is received or not, is it because I am afraid or just don't care about these people?
If I agree and say nothing, how would anyone know, except God? Why would I not agree? Isn't that what we are to do, or not do, when someone else prays?
If I don't offer my agreement, why?
It seems to me, it is either because you disagree, AND don't really care... or it is fear, or not an appropriate time and place.
Maybe you didn't hear what was said?
Are we not to walk together in agreement? This means we should hash out the disagreements in love and patience. This means we should show support when going in the right direction.
So, why is there no agreement... or disagreement?

My name is Lou, and I support this message.
