Positively Powerless

This idea in Christian circles "Attitude of Gratitude" or "Being Positive" is simply another play for control.

The opinion that our attitude or feelings somehow alter or improve our surroundings and/or future is man trying to claim God-like abilities. It is truly an "I will ascend" action and attitude.

It is!

God is in charge.

Any effort, even in thought and feeling is an attempt to claim power and control.

Of course, it is a much better way to walk if you are positive in your outlook. However, if you think in any way that you can manipulate reality, or God, is a lie of the enemy.

To be truly positive in your outlook on life, the only real way is to have enough faith, because you know God, and walk with Him.

With knowledge that you are important to Him, and that your eternal future is secure (not because of you, but Him), then yes you can be very positive.

You would most certainly have reason to be.

But in no way does your positive attitude alter or change God's plan for you...a plan He made long before you were born.

God does not need you to do anything. He is not waiting for you to do anything. If He wants you to do something...you will.

Yes, He plans your failures long before you do them. Every fall, every stupid decision, even every sin, is fully orchestrated to make you into what HE wants.

Ah, but if you don't accept the truth of Him, but instead continue to fight with Him over control, you are definitely being made into something other than a real believer.

Think Judas...

Yea, he thought he could manipulate Jesus too.

That didn't work out well for him, but it WAS the plan.
