We've Sort of Met Once

So, you have met the guy down the street once. Some of your other neighbors say he is nice...

Would you just walk into his house?

Would you let him borrow your tools?

Would you let him watch your kids for a weekend?

Would you let him take your wife to dinner?

"No"

So... you don't trust him.

Well, it makes perfect sense. You don't really know him at all, do you? You might know about him, and have talked with him briefly, but what do you really know?

You haven't been in a situation where you had to count on him.

You haven't seen him act or react in any circumstance.

You have pretty much ignored him in your day to day "neighborhood" activities.

In truth, he doesn't really know you either then.

So, if he was asked by the authorities, wouldn't he say... "I don't know you."

Yes, he would.

So would you.

On judgment day....

Yes, this is why Jesus will say to many... "I don't know you".
