Your Choice
There are only two choices given in this life. One leads to eternity, the other ends...period.
Salvation is only found in trusting God, through Jesus Christ. As a Christian even in the most remote sense, this is true.
Faith is the only means of gaining eternal life. The ONLY means.
Trust in God.
The opposite, the other choice, is to trust in ANYTHING else.
You could trust in an idol.
You could trust in a man-made religion.
You could trust in the devil himself. Because it is not trust in God, The God, you will die...permanently.
The worst, and should be the most obvious, is trusting in yourself. This includes trusting in your choices, your acts, your discipline, your works, your attitude, your power, your words, and anything YOU do to achieve.
Its all over the scriptures. You cannot earn salvation. The LAW was given to prove this to be true!
The LAW points to the absolute inability of man to become like God, to save himself. He must receive salvation as a gift, given by the unmerited favor of God.
He chooses.
He saves.
He redeems.
If you trust in anything else...you end.
Ah, but if you trust in an action on your part.
You praying a "sinners" prayer.
You confessing words out loud.
You being baptized.
You "willing" faith.
You claiming authority.
You rebuking evil.
You living out a tradition.
You attending church services.
You feeding the poor.
You standing in "the gap".
You doing anything and believing it is necessary to be saved.
Your Choice.
Your "freewill".
None of this is trusting God. It is trusting you.
So, are you saved?
It will come down to this on judgement day. If you received the gift, you will know. You will believe that nothing you did earned you eternal life.
Nothing.
He just gave it to you because HE wanted to.
If that is not good enough...you still want to be ascended and become like God.
The first lie.
Oh, and the "choice", if you trust Him, it was always His to begin with. It was never yours.
The choice you make only shows what choice He made long before you were ever born.
Are you comfortable with it?
You are if you trust Him.
Good choice!
